And it represents a style that came right after the Art Deco movement and is sometimes called art deco retro or retro modern or just plain retro. The ring is quite unusual in that it is composed of a center area that mimics a diamond engagement ring yet it is surrounded with lustrous 14K pink gold and 14 red Burmese rubies. Side View. The center part has 5 diamonds, all set in platinum. This platinum glitz around the diamonds in addition to the diamonds themselves makes the ring look like a higher carat weight. The diamonds include 1 sparkling center diamond and 2 smaller diamonds on each side for a total of 1/4 carat diamonds. Of course the beautiful rubies make the pink gold look even pinker. This gorgeous antique ring could certainly be used as an engagement ring or wedding ring but it also doubles as an outstanding dinner ring. And it is highly collectible. It weighs 6.7 grams and is currently a size 11 and 1/2 and would look great on your thumb but could be resized at your request and at Sassy's expense to fit any finger.
