You could have blown me away with a feather when I first saw this gorgeous gleaming platinum and diamond watch. It is magnificent! And rare? Oh my Goodness!! Remember the depression? Well, the lady that owned this jewel apparently didn't suffer much! It is very rare to find a 4 carat diamond watch from the depression era! It has 142 sparkling high quality diamonds adding up to a full 4 carats of blitz. Sassy's best guess is that it is from the 1940s The outstanding diamond encrusted lugs are to die for! And although the face was difficult to photograph without a backshine, the face is actually very easy to read in real life and super super clean. It has been kept in a vault for approximately 60 or 70 years and it is times like this that I wish I, Sassy, made exceptions for the word 'mint'. I have never used that word in a writeup but boy, am I tempted to use it now! It is in amazing fabulous super clean condition. The mechanism has been cleaned, oiled, gone over with a fine tooth comb, and adjusted. It keeps time beautifully. The band is made of platinum and there are 11 fabulous platinum and diamond links with 7 diamonds each and 9 connecting links with 3 diamonds each.
