HAIR LOCKET

NECKLACE

*****NEW LISTING*****

Victorian Bohemian Hair Locket Necklace Item VNLB9122 This is one of the most stunning necklaces I have ever come across. It is a very rare and exquisite Victorian necklace from the 1850s to 1880s and is quite impressive. Stunning rose cut garnets cover the gold filled jewel. I haven't seen a necklace this unusual and this completely intact in many many years. Yes, I see occasional garnet brooches from time to time and sometimes a garnet necklace and sometimes a garnet hair locket. But a detachable-hair-locket-brooch-necklace? NEVER! The ornate gold locket brooch can be worn alone and is absolutely stunning. Without its 3/4" fancy attachment to the necklace, the brooch is 2 and 1/4" long. Together, the drop is 3" long. It is stately, beautiful, and utilitarian for it hooks on to the necklace at the center with a gold S loop clasp. Inside the locket there is a place for the hair of your loved one. With a 15" long garnet rosette chain that closes with a spring ring which is a replacement, I can extend the necklace up to 1 inch with a short gold chain at the back. This necklace was highly treasured in the 1800s and is even more treasured now as it is extremely rare. 2 garnets were replaced professionally. I have to tell you, I was blown away by this complicated and important necklace; I couldn't quit looking at it. Excellent condition. Price $1800.00 SOLD

PINK PARURE

*****NEW LISTING*****

Pink Victorian Revival Celluloid Bolo Necklace and Bracelet Parure Item VP8842 Yours is a life so definitive and refined that nothing less than perfection will do. Some may choose to simply sit in the lap of luxury, but you…you've written the book on what it is to live. You'll settle for nothing less than superior and this Pink Victorian Revival parure will allow you to own any room that you enter with no more effort than raising a glass of the finest Krug Champagne. This circa 1940s necklace and bracelet PINK parure is a phenomenal, exciting foray into aristocratic elitism! A sleek, snake chain slips with sultry ardor around your neck, bound by a sumptuous bolo centerpiece. The large pink cabochon that sits center stage lets everyone know that you do everything big and with classy style. An ornate golden frame that is accented with vibrant pink rhinestones surrounds this gorgeous opaque pink gem. It can be worn as short as 14" with longer dangles or as long as 18" with shorter dangles. It closes at the back with a foldover clasp. The necklace is adjustable by pulling on the bolo ties, which have dangling leaf designs that glow with large pink rhinestones. The matching bracelet further defines the enchanting leaf and rhinestone motifs, revealing the inherent romance in the evocative Victorian Revival artistry. The bracelet is a very generous 1 and 1/2" wide and the center stone is a full 1" in diameter... very showy! It closes with a foldover clasp. Sit upon your golden laurels or wear them for the world to see? I think this pretentious parure answers that question for you. Excellent condition. Price $999.00  SOLD

DRAGONS

ENAMELED

NECKLACE

*****NEW LISTING*****

Victorian Enameled Dragons and Pink Stone Necklace (not signed but who cares!) Item VFN8921 It's the dragon that usually captures the beautiful woman, not the other way around. But this very rare antique Victorian necklace will find you compelled to tame the dangerous fantasy creatures and make them your glamorous guardians. This mystifying Victorian enameled dragons necklace, circa late 1800s, is a masterwork of romantic fantasy come to life! Two roaring dragons fiercely guard a single 1" pink, framed stone on each of the necklace's golden openwork panels. Dragons were known to hoard treasures and what a treasure these pink cellulloid cabochon gems are. Could they be dragon eggs or perhaps something even more valuable? A massive round pink stone is nestled in the necklace's centerpiece while white enameled flowers are precociously placed throughout the necklace's length. The necklace is 15 and 3/4" long (Sassy can add an extension if needed) and closes with one of those very old early C ring clasps (which still works very well). So is it the dragons that are guarding the treasure or are you guarding the dragons? Whichever you choose, you'll delight in the awed whispers that surround you when you wear this Victorian beauty. It's outstanding and very very RARE!! Excellent condition. Price $1425.00 SOLD

1920s

Victorian Revival Diamond and Emerald, Platinum and Gold Necklace (tests positive for platinum and 14K gold) Item FAV8324 You are the very definition of what a woman should be. Smart, sexy, seductive, and sophisticated. You are a goddess in your own right and so it is fitting then, that you should be surrounded with glitter as bright as the sun. This circa 1920s Victorian Revival necklace is the definitive signature piece you've always envisioned. In fact, it glitters and sparles even when the light is not shining directly on it!! The top layer is platinum and that includes the whole elaborate ribbon design, the lower leaves, and the 20 diamond links that go all the way around the neck. A dainty, airy design of diamond encrusted, ivy leaves and sweeping, curving diamond ribbons of platinum instills a sense of imperial regency to the woman that wears this intoxicating collection of luxurious gems. Five large emeralds of exceptional quality decorate each of the necklace's arcing swags, adding to the sumptuous shimmer of the necklace's centerpiece. Each florid panel of leaves and ribbons is separated by a shockingly beautiful focal, set off by sparkling white diamond rays with heart-shaped tops, and an emerald focal that descends into a long, lucid diamond form with a single large emerald glimmering below. There are approximately 5 carats of emeralds. There are 302 single cut diamonds adding up to approximately 4 carats. The necklace is made up of 2 complete layers.. Ahh, you say, you want to see that platinum chain around the neck? Here is the platinum and diamond chain. So to speak, there is a complete necklace underneath welded to the top with a space inbetween to allow the diamonds and emeralds to breathe. The under necklace and the emerald mountings, swags, connecting links, and secondary leaves are 14K gold. The necklace measures 15 and 7/8" long and closes with a diamond studded push clasp which was probably added around the 1940s. You will never find a more engaging, enrapturing and magnificent necklace than this one. Well worthy of being placed with the Crown Jewels, you'll be perfection itself in the eyes of the entire world. Excellent condition. Price $7500.00

GUTTA PERCHA

(vocabulary)

Rare Victorian Gutta Percha Collar (not signed) Item VN8054 The flames of love and devotion burn brightly in your breast filled with the spirit of those romantic women of ages past. This rare circa 1880s Victorian Gutta Percha Collar is a symbol of timeless endearment that endures to this very day. An intricately carved black Gutta Percha relief cameo bears the symbols of a heart with a flame, an anchor, and a cross. The flaming heart represents burning devotion, the anchor symbolizes hope and the cross is the symbol of ultimate love, faith and goodness. What powerful imagery! Gutta Percha panels with braided rope designs radiate out and around from the centerpiece with black beads separating them on the dual strands on which they are mounted. The necklace has been restrung for safety using the original findings . It has the same impressive impact as the day it was fashioned. Sassy took the liberty to add fresh black velvet ties so it could be wearable today. The ties are quite long. Each is 16" long and of course they can be cut shorter if you desire. Let the world be awash in the depths of your devotion and emotion as you stun with elegance and refinement that is unmatched in the modern world. Excellent condition. Price $2200.00 SOLD

Dear Janet, I am so glad you got it. Now wear it with pride. It is from the 1860s to 1880s! Sassy

The UPS Man ("Brown") just pulled up and delivered my Victorian necklace. And you were right - I do love it. The chain and clasp are wonderful - but those glass dangles are perfection. As I said - that necklace has kept calling to me since one of the first times I visited your site - glad it finally made it home. Janet

1860s JET CAMEOS

NECKLACE

Rare Victorian Jet Cameo Mourning Necklace (not signed) Item FVCN6945 In the Victorian Era, during the time of Queen Victoria's mourning for her beloved husband, jewelry made of Jet became not only required court attire but the influence of the Queen's court mandate made it fashionable wear for daily life. This unbelievably beautiful, ornately carved circa 1860s Jet cameo necklace is a museum quality example of the skilled artisanship of the Victorian Age. A massive chain of hexagonal links with faceted edging is joined by huge ovals with faceted edges and intricately etched and carved designs. This necklace is a piece of artistic mastery, which is further evidenced by the three astounding cameos ( etched on both sides of each one) suspended from vertically aligned circle rings attached to the grandiose chain. Take a look at the closeup of the cameos. This family of fine ladies remain eternally vigilant and at the ready for the occasion when the Queen might call for their service. In the interim, they wait at your beckoned call to serve you as elegant attendants to your own beauty. These lovely ladies come bearing gifts! Each one of your ladies-in-waiting has an engraved rose on her cameo's flipside giving this necklace incredible versatility and unlimited potential. The center cameo is 2 and 1/4" long and dangles 3 and 1/4" while the smaller adjacent cameos are 1 and 7/8" long. The 20" long chain still has its original hidden push clasp intact and it still works very well. This cameo necklace has some minor scratches here and there which is entirely appropriate for a piece that is over 140 years old and attests to its authenticity. The fact that it has survived virtually unscathed to the 21st century is a testament to the overall craftsmanship and durability of this rare Victorian necklace. Possess a fascinating piece with great historical significance and startling beauty when you purchase this very rare Victorian Jet cameo necklace. Excellent condition. Price $1800.00 SOLD
