Victorian jewelry on this page includes Victorian jewelry from the 1840s to 1901,

is Edwardian Jewelry from 1901 to 1910. Prince Albert, Queen Victoria's husband, died in 1861 of Typhoid Fever and that started the Victorian 
Mourning Era which lasted a miniumum of 2 years.  Victorian mourning jewelry was made of either jet, gutta percha, bog oak or other black material. 
Victorian tortoise shell is considered Victorian "half mourning" jewelry...it was worn during the 2nd year of a loved one's passing. Antique Victorian pins, 
brooches, bracelets and crosses were popular. I have also included Edwardian jewelry which is circa 1901 to 1910.  Edward was Victoria's son and reigned
 for a short time so the jewelry from that era is quite collectible.  Included on this page is Art nouveau jewelry from 1890s to 1910, the arts and crafts era,
 and turn of the century jewelry, along with antique art deco jewelry from 1928 through the 1930s, Czechoslovakian jewelry from the  1920s to 1930s, 
Egyptian Revival jewelry, and Victorian Revival Jewelry. Paste stone jewelry was very popular during the Victorian Era. Paste stones are not to be confused
