Rare Art Nouveau
Sterling Cuff (tests positive for Sterling) Item
VSBR8701 The embrace of nature's beauty created a revolution
in artistry and design known as Art Nouveau. This period saw
the birth of a new era that gave master jewelers inspiration
for some of the most elaborately swirled and delightful
jewelry ever to have been created. Sadly this artistic
movement only lasted a mere 15 years, making jewelry from
this time very rare. However, Sassy has managed to obtain
this amazing circa late 1895 to 1910 Art Nouveau bracelet
and Ladies, it is a sight to behold. Exquisite repousse and
chasing work allow for stunningly beautiful ornamentation
throughout this sterling silver cuff. The border is
dramatically detailed with curving vines and leaves that are
a signature of the Art Nouveau period. The body of the
bracelet features a very classic etched leaves and fronds
design that draws you in and touches the very depths of your
humanity. Especially when you realize that the hand of man
no doubt did all of this incredible artistry. The bracelet
is a very generous 1 and 5/8" wide, nice and weighty at 48.7
grams grams sterling, and is 2 and 1/2" in diameter with a 1
and 3/8" opening. The rarity of Art Nouveau jewelry makes me
wonder if Sassy has a time machine because for someone to
find a wonderful work like this

Emerald Watch (signed Bulova Watch Co, 15 Jewels, 1347949,

It's
noon on the 12th of April, there she sits at a small cafe
waiting for her husband. He's late but she is not upset. She
sits at their regular table staring at her watch, a
beautiful white gold filled watch
which she got for
their 8th anniversary. It has 8 emeralds on the face and
band and drapes perfectly over her elegant wrist.. or is it
the watch that makes her wrist so elegant, either way the
minutes pass perfectly as the 8 stones, a stone for every
year that they have been wed, sparkle in her eyes. She just
had it cleaned and serviced last week and it keeps time
perfectly. Although it is very Art Deco looking, it was
actually made just before the art deco exhibition (1925) and
at the end of the Edwardian era so it is considerd
Transitional. The
face is pristine and is a creamy
white. She
suddenly drifts off in memory of the card that accompanied
the gift box, "I love you all the time." He scored points
for that one. She then opens the clasp which fits her 6 and
1/4" wrist. She
prefers opening it at the back because it is easier than the
connection at the head of the
watch. She is
staring closer at the emeralds that dance in the night.
The
15 jewel manual winding mechanism attaches to a beautiful
sapphire stem. As
he walks in the door she gets lost in his green eyes, eyes
that are almost as green as the emeralds. He says "I'm sorry

smile "Late? You are right on time." Excellent condition.

14K Gold Filigree Cameo
Habille' with Diamond Brooch (signed 14K gold) Item
VC8346 Elegance personified! What a gorgeous and unique
conch shell cameo. It depicts Flora, the goddess of plants
and flowers. According to Greek mythology, she is famous for
something even better than that. She is the goddess of
immaculate conceptions! She
is painfully beautiful with a slightly turned up nose. Very
finely carved and exquisitely
detailed, this
shell cameo habille' (vocabulary)
is bezel set in place by a gorgeous double filigree frame
which is 14K white gold. What makes her so unique? Sassy
collects cameo habille's but she believes this is the first
one she has ever seen with a diamond brooch!
It
has a bale to wear as a cameo necklace and the most
beautiful fine filigree
frame. Flora has
roses in her hair and the 1920s artist took advantage of the
color of the shell layers so that the roses are in color.
She has a peaches and cream complexion set against a reddish
caramel background. Those of you who work too many hours and
find that your passions are waning, will be happy to know
that you can still get pregnant without sex! According to
Greek mythology, all you have to do is touch a flower that
Flora has and you will get pregnant. She helped the goddess
Juno get pregnant without her husband Jupiter. 1 and 7/8"
long by 1 and 5/8" wide, this is a fairly large cameo. Want
to get pregnant? go for an immaculate conception!

CAMEO
|
Victorian Strawberry
Blonde with Diamond Frame Cameo (tests positive for 18K
gold) Item VC8428 Outstanding antique 1890s
Victorian cameo of the gorgeous goddess, Flora.
She
is set in a unique, rich and lustrous 18K gold frame
accented with 4 mine cut diamonds and a pendant bale (which
was added some time later). Under the outer part of the
frame is a beautiful gold twist giving it a rich braided
look. Flora was a
goddess with a very special gift. She had a flower that made
women pregnant when they touched the flower.... oh if it was
that easy. (*_*) You didn't have to put up with a husband
and figuring out what time of the month it was or anything.
The cameo with its frame (not including the bale) is 1 and
1/2" long by 1 and 1/8" wide. The cameo is a work of art.
She is masterfully carved right at the juncture of the color
change in the conch shell taking advantage of the 2 colors.
She is carved in high relief with a showering of beautiful
reddish-blonde flowers in her hair that match her strawberry
blonde hair. The color continues into her pretty gown. A
flower also decorates the shoulder of her gown. Her face
is beautiful and she has an ivory complexion and sits
against a porcelain looking background. The pin closes into
a trombone clasp. Sassy suggests that it would be nice if
the pendant was attached differently so that it could hide
under the cameo when worn as a pendant. In fact, she feels
so strongly about it, that if you want it changed, she will
pick up the tab. The cameo appears to have been kept in a
vault all these years. There are no chips or stress
fractures visible to the naked eye. To say this cameo is
drop dead gorgeous, would be putting it mildly. The carving
is exquisite, the 18K gold frame incredible with real
diamonds. Breathtaking and rare, it is a highly collectible
antique. Excellent condition. Price $1200.00

Cameo (tests + for 14K) Item VC8798 Strikingly
beautiful, this alabaster white beauty has been intricately
carved upon rare exceptionally white conch shell. The
beautiful lady is exquisitely rendered in this 1890s giant
shell cameo. Her lovely image has been bezel set gently into

white background, her alabaster skin gives the sensation
that she is frozen in time, anticipating her awakening.
Tinges of warm harvest colors adorn the curls in the top of
her hair as well as in her long layered locks. The hair is
intricately carved. A fairly large cameo, it measures 1 and

Victorian Large Diana
10K Cameo (signed 10K) Item VC8360 Classical
Victorian cameo is absolutely stunning in every elegant
detail. Gorgeous intricately carved conch shell is framed in
a beautifully elegant 10K etched gold frame. This
masterpiece is circa 1890s which makes it over 100 years
old! Diana is radiantly beautiful and easily identified by
her attribute of the crescent moon above her head. Diana was
the goddess of animals and fertility, but unlike Venus,
Diana's appeal was her elusive chastity. Translation,
Diana had magnetic looks but played hard to get, while Venus
was definitely the pub-crawl type of gal! (*_*) Lovely
well defined waves and curls sweep back from Diana's
exquisitely carved face. Even the soft folds of her
Romanesque tunic are perfect in their detail. And the color?
WOW! The artist used the color of the shell masterfully
right where it changes from caramel to white. Overall the
exquisite piece of art is a very generous and dramatic 2 and
1/16" by 1 and 3/4" wide including the frame. A well working
pin clasps in an old type C clasp. Incomparable,
breathtaking cameo is absolutely wonderful. Romantic,
classical and incredibly gorgeous! Excellent condition.
